the first time i saw fugazi was in may of 1998 (i think) it was a show at carnegie mellon university, and actually i had never heard of them until the boy i was dating at the time mentioned them. i was however, there to see the band opening for them, quix*o*tic (former slant 6). i left the show early, tired and not able to get into the music because the crowd REALLY sucked (ie: frat boy) and were screaming the whole time during the quix*o*tic set for them to "get off the stage" and that they "wanted fugazi." it wasnt until i moved to dc that i saw them again at fort reno park a year later. i was all excited about this show because i had actually LISTENED to their music, and was up on all the hype. throughout the show it rained, and actually stormed. the show was cut short after what felt like 5 songs (however i was told it was actually "9", but that fact remains questionable). lightning struck again and again. and all the while ive called this the "worst night of my life" because of other instances going on at the show..the photos still prove to me some of the most moving pictures ive ever shot. i saw them again in december at the 9:30 club, and that was the first time i saw a full set of theirs. last summers show at fort reno park was great, but disappointing, as it rained again.
